Loadouts and Configs, UI, oh my!

What exactly are Loadouts in Warframe?

Like many other games, Warframe offers you a way to save your favourite, or most used, setups. So you can hop into a variety of missions without having to dig through all your gear every time.

A Loadout in Warframe is nearly a full set up. It includes the Warframe + desired config, Primary, Secondary and any melee weapons + config, and any companion + config. You can also have loadouts for Archwing.

Archwing loadouts are separate from non Archwing loadouts. For example, if I have 10 total loadout slots, that will be 10 for Archwing loadouts and 10 for general loadouts without an archwing.

To get more loadout slots there are unfortunately only two ways. You can either increase your mastery rank to get more, or, buy them for platinum from the loadout screen. Any loadouts you do get will apply to both normal and Archwing loadouts.

How do I see my loadouts?

To view your loadouts, you just need to click the bar in the picture below. This bar is the name of whatever loadout you’re currently using, right now, you can see it’s called “Testing.”

After clicking the button, you will see a screen like this that displays all your saved loadouts.

This screen allows you to favourite loadouts, rename them, copy loadouts, and change the images that are displayed to any glyph you have unlocked.

Selecting a loadout is just a matter of clicking one then clicking “SET AS CURRENT LOADOUT” in the bottom corner.

To edit an existing loadout, you can click the one you want to change, click “SET AS CURRENT LOADOUT”. This will take you back to the arsenal screen where you can change what you need to.

To create a new loadout, you can click on an empty slot and enter a name for it. After this, you will end up at the arsenal screen again. From there you can build a loadout like you would anything else and it will automatically save to that loadout.

What are configs?

Everytime you’ve added mods to a Warframe, weapon, Archwing or companion, this is a Config, it’s you configuring your equipment to better suit your needs. These configs can be renamed and shared in game for others to see. Fellow Tenno can even copy a config you’ve linked if they have the right mods.

All gear starts with 3 empty configs that allows you to save a unique mod setup – or build – in each one. You can even buy up to 3 extra configs for platinum although this only applies to the selected equipment.

How do you link configs in chat?

So, after hours of dying, you’ve finally got that Rhino modded *chefs kiss* just the way you like it. Now you want to show your build off to the world. If only there was a way to do that hey.

Good news, there is a way to do just that. You can link your prized config in chat, to show the world your mad modding skills. Simply open the weapon or Warframe config you want to share; then look towards the top bar for a little button with an icon that looks suspiciously like links in a chain.

Just click this button and the game will add a link to the mod config you have open, in the chat window ready for you to add a message or just send it.

How do you link appearances and fashionframe?

Yep you read that right, you can even post links to your Warframe’s appearance, allowing others to view your prized fashionframe and even copy it, provided they have all the armour pieces and colour palettes.

To do this, simply go to your arsenal, find the Warframe you want to show off, select it and click the appearances button.

You should then see two buttons near the top right of the screen, one is for Captura, the other button is the one we want.

Clicking this button will paste a link into your chat window that you can then post.

This will provide anyone that clicks it a view of the linked fashion, a breakdown of all the armour used and what colour palettes you’ve used. They will also see a button that will copy everything onto their own Warframe as long as they have everything they need.
